Winding Ways: Exploring Value with Giucy Giuce
The Sewing Machine Exchange is very excited to offer this two day workshop, taught by Giuseppe Ribaudo.
We will have a variety of curated "value bundles" of Giucy Giuce fabric available at the shop come mid October. These are designed to make choosing fabric for your quilt a snap. We will also have suitable background fabrics available.
The Sewing Machine Exchange has many sewing supplies and notions at the shop if you forget something or want to try something new.
We will provide water, sodas and snacks both days. There are many lunch options available within walking distance: Applebees, Kon Asian Bistro, Jersey Mikes and Tasty Fried Chicken. There are many more if you are up for a short drive.
Day One will cover designing with value. There will be a presentation, a lecture and plenty of time for question and answer. We will break an hour for lunch and return in the afternoon for a demo and dig in with what we have learned.
Day Two will be primarily for design and sewing.
What to Bring:
Basic Sewing Supplies
- Assortment of FQs totaling AT LEAST 4 yards: 2 colors both in values from light to dark
- 4 yards background fabric (white or low value fabric suggested)
- Rotary Cutter
- Sewing Machine in good working order
- Thread
- Cutting mat -the shop has mats but feel free to bring your own
- Seam ripper
- Iron - the shop will provide some irons for use.
- Pins
- Small scissors or thread snips
- Marking pens and/or pencils
- Basic Quilting Rulers (4” x 6” or 6 ½” and a shorter ruler 12” or 14” long
- Any other notions you may need to work on a quilt top:
