Serger Obedience
This class is designed to help you understand and use your serger more effectively.
Taught by Renee Bylund, the key areas covered in this class will be:
- How the serger differs from a sewing machine
- Basic care and maintenance of the machine
- Understand those tension dials
- What a balanced seam looks like
- How to create different stitch patterns using your tension dials
- Performance decisions: How many threads do I use, when and where
What you need to bring to class:
- Serger and all the accessories that came with your machine
- Foot Control
- Power cord
- Serger manual
Other supplies:
- A variety of fabric scraps: cottons, knits, fleece, denim, etc...
- Scissors
- 4 spools of serger thread, one color to match each color of your 4 tension dials. (*Purchase only good quality serger threads, such as Maxilock or Todilock. Maxilock is sold at The Sewing Machine Exchange.)
