Learn the basics of making a great stitch with your sewing machine.

In this class we will cover bobbin winding, best threading practices, adjustments to stitch length and stitch width, good stitch balance, stretch stitches, maintenance and tension!

Great for beginners and anyone who wants to confidently know their sewing machine and get the most out of it.

Get off to a good start with all your projects when you know how to use your machine!


Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: No experience necessary.
Requirements: Sewing machine, thread (two different colors if you have it), fabric scraps to stitch on
Instructor: Tyler Stanley
Instructor Bio: Head Machine Technician and owner of The Sewing Machine Exchange, Tyler Stanley started out at Sew Portland repairing machines with his mom, Kathy Stanley. He is a professional keyboardist by night and a machine tech by day.
