Bring 13-15 different fabrics to provide enough variety. These may be:
Fat Eighths (9” x 22”) This is the MINIMUM amount of fabric you need.
OR Fat Quarters (18” x 22”)

You may bring extra scraps as desired—nothing smaller than 1” x 9”

ALSO bring one or two colors for Jazzy inserts (I like one black and one bright color like turquoise or yellow) a quarter yard or fat quarter of each is plenty.

Stay within one style of fabrics such as:
All solids for a modern looking piece
A collection of shirting fabrics in stripes/solids
Polka dotted fabrics, with two or three solids
If you really want to use prints, be sure to bring a few solids—or fabrics that read as solids

Other Items:
*Thread for piecing (neutral color)
*Rotary Cutter
*Ruler for cutting strips
*Small cutting mat (not essential, but nice to have)
*Seam ripper
*Fabric Scissors
Sewing machine in good working order
*¼” foot (if you have one)
Bobbin, cords, and foot pedal

To complete your quilt (not needed for class):
Approximately 1 ½ yards backing fabric
46” square (or larger) Batting
Approximately ½ yard binding fabric
